WANILLA  FOREST

Many hours of work has been carried out in the Wanilla Forest over the past three years.  Tracts of dead pines have been cleared and fire tracks and breaks have been established in the ongoing effort to clean the up the forest and reduce the risk of fire. This has been supported by the ALT, CFS and NRM.

The Wanilla Forest Project has commenced with funding received from the ILC and DAFF to assist in developing the forest into a viable Fire Wood and Timber business. Fire wood sales (sugar gum) have commenced with over 30 tonne sold this Winter (2010).
