Hello everyone, my name is Deidre Dahlberg (everyone calls me Dee), I have recently started work at Yalata Community as the Women’s Centre Coordinator.

The Women’s Centre is now open 4 days a week from 10am until 4pm.

You are more than welcome to visit us relax and have a cup of tea, maybe chat with myself or my assistant Elizabeth Gray (Lizzy).  Or you may want to take part in the many activities we have planned.

For 2009 we expect to have more art projects; a camping trip in March; regular bush and beach trips; art exhibitions (one is planned for June at the Head of Bight) and visits to meet other women’s groups plus much much more.  We are also working with many of the other groups in the community to provide training in many areas, for example Health and Nutrition; TAFE courses especially those related to future wellbeing and employment.

However most of all we want Yalata Women’s Centre to be a place where Women can be at peace to work on their needs now and for the future.

Kind regards

Dee & Lizzy
